Legacy App
Legacy is a web-application that allows Blitz freelancers to work remotely without having access to AutoCAD or other alternatives.
What is Legacy?
How does Legacy differ from traditional CAD softwares?
The architecture of the application is tailored towards the work Blitz typically offers, using classes like armatures and rebars rather than purely geometrical entities.
The second and larger advantage is that Legacy is a web-based application, which means it can be used by anyone, anywhere, with any device that is connected to the Internet.
What language is used in the development of Legacy?
Mainly relying on Javascript libraries, Legacy is mainly a front-end application with little back-end code. However, for the bit of server-side code it does have, we used python.
Is Legacy integrated with your other tech solutions?
Legacy is linked to the Blitz Production House in that it knows what job is assigned to the freelancer, generating the freelancers work automatically without them having to import or upload any files.
As for the academy, in the future we are planning to integrate the learning process to the Legacy app, turning learning from a text and video course to a fully interactive ‘learn on the go’ model.
What problem was Legacy created to solve?
The app was created to solve the issue that all our software was in-house, which meant the freelancers had to work from the office to avoid software theft.
Legacy is meant to be the ‘Holy Grail’ of Blitz, it is the most accessible, fully customizable place where freelancers would be able to do their work. It was written in a way where we linked it to all in-house technical software we previously had, as well as all the innovations we rely on.
